This causes your body to produce too much protein, making it unavailable. The body then produces less protein than it needs to make protein. When this is the case, the protein you are eating is converted to glucose (sugar), and not amino acids (amino acids, which are needed for building and maintaining muscle).
This means you are not getting a sufficient amount of a necessary nutrient, called ketones (ketones produced by ketosis, or burning fat for energy). This is why many people lose belly fat by restricting carbohydrates. But, without restricting carbohydrates, the body can build very little of that amino acid which will in turn prevent the ketones from being formed. So, the body is essentially starving itself.
Unfortunately, a lot of people in the United States aren’t aware of how important it is to eat a great deal of protein. The average American gets about 6.8 grams of protein per day. The average European gets approximately 8 grams per day. But, when you get into a specific area, you might get less because of where you are located. So, it’s best to read the labels of food and figure out what you’re getting. Look for things called whey (protein concentrate), casein (the protein from milk products), soy protein isolate (which is made from soybeans and is not found in a lot of processed food products), and whey protein concentrate. These are very important proteins if you are going to make muscle.
