There is no definitive answer to this. We often hear that a viola can only be played over two strings, though there is little to support this. While two strings are definitely recommended to keep the instrument “fresh” for a few rehearsals, there is no definitive answer as to whether the violin will sustain these two strings at one time, or be tied to a single string for the rest of its life. In other words: is it one violin or two? Does two strings give the instrument more life?
TEL AVIV (Reuters) – Israeli President Reuven Rivlin rejected as baseless Israeli claims that the Palestinians had violated security lines on April 27.

Israel and the Palestinians have been locked in a three-week standoff over East Jerusalem and their occupied West Bank territories, with the Palestinians saying Israelis are building “facts on the ground” without international authorization to advance their own political ambitions.
Netanyahu said on Monday that he would not allow a Palestinian state to be built on the pre-1967 lines, which split the Middle East in two after the 1973 war.
“This was the decision that all of us made with our partners … I reiterate what we said,” said Rivlin who leads the centrist Jewish Home party.
“(If) the Palestinians want to build things on the boundaries between the West Bank and Israel and beyond then let them do so but we won’t allow it,” he said.
Palestinian media reported Palestinians had violated the line, known as “security coordination lines”, on the West Bank that Israeli forces control on the Golan Heights, where Israel withdrew in 2005, to the city of Ramallah, a city of around 500,000 people.
The area of Al-Wafa, east of Jerusalem, which is under Palestinian rule, along with parts of the Palestinian Authority’s jurisdiction on land captured by Israel in 1967, came under Israeli military control in 2010.
