RENTON, Wash. — Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider has been vocal about the idea that Seattle is a “rebuild” team, and even before the Super Bowl, he made it clear that he did not see it as a “win.”
After the Pro Bowl, Schneider’s stance has softened — even though he continues to believe the Seahawks will fail to win a title.
Here’s what he told ESPN.com: “(We’re) rebuilding, and we’re going to go build a better team.”
Seattle has had a number of off days this holiday season, but Schneider said while he doesn’t see anything “very important” changing about whether the Seahawks are a “good” or “bad” team, there has been a noticeable reduction in “drama,” since the season ended.
On Tuesday, Schneider had another change to report — he said the team is not talking to other owners to renegotiate its franchise tag with the player. The tag will go through the 2016 season.
“[They are not] currently discussing that stuff in any manner,” Schneider said.

The death toll was reported to be at 2,000 in a series of unrest across Thailand, including in the capital, Bangkok.
Police have arrested more than 10,000 members of the Thai police and the public, with more than 5,000 injured.
Hundreds marched in protest against the government in Bangkok on Saturday.
On Thursday, the government rejected a report by rights group Amnesty International accusing it of a campaign of beatings against protesters.
“We won’t allow violence or intimidation to change our position,” Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said on Friday.
She also said she was confident that the government was acting in line with the constitution.
The violence has been the worst in decades, with the death toll now standing at more than 1,000.
The US State Department on Thursday called for the Thai government to ensure a “thorough, independent investigation into the violence”, and for the United States to provide “any evidence” it requested relating to the deaths on Thursday night.
