I don’t think the flappers wore red lipstick in those days. I think it used to be pink (red being more common than pink), but at one time the term “flapper” was used as a pejorative to refer to the women. In the 1930s it was common for the women to wear red lipstick. As we know now, when the girls hit puberty that term was dropped after that.
When was the last time you saw a picture of an attractive girl with red lipstick?
It seems to be impossible to get a woman to do anything about this anymore, but the reality is, the red lip is now worn by the majority.
What’s the best thing that has ever happened to you in the last hour?
I have found that a well-dressed woman is more likely to like me than an average-looking woman.
What’s the worst thing that has ever happened to you in the last 30 years?
The worst thing that’s ever happened to me? A guy called me a “Faggot” once. He knew exactly what he was talking about. He called me that over and over. To make it even worse, he did it while I was in bed with my wife. That’s bad, because it made me angry and hurt that I even had to hear that name again!
What are you excited for in the world of fashion in two years?
I am excited for the women’s empowerment movement. Women are fighting harder than ever to get their voices heard and deserve to know what they are wearing. Women’s magazines aren’t covering anything new except for their legs and panties because they aren’t doing anything new. Women’s magazines have also been very hesitant to cover anything about the feminine.
What are you disappointed about in the world of fashion in two years?
I am disappointed with fashion magazines. They should be focused on fashion and women’s issues. They should do real fashion coverage. They shouldn’t be afraid of being called “Girly” or “Gawdy” or any of those other terms they make it a secret (and they still refuse to do that).
How do you feel about the current level of attention given to “manettes”?
I don’t think manettes exist in the first place. When I was in high school there was the term “cotton fop.” These were women who dressed like men in a way that was completely outside of normal society
