This is actually rather simple. The idea is to use the same basic concept as for the previous image, minus some of the more advanced stuff that we’ll cover in future episodes. You will take a 2D image and add a box around it to fill it in. The idea is to draw a tank with the main purpose of protecting the user and the background at the same time. Here’s a good example. You can take a copy of the picture or you’ll have to figure out how to draw a box.
The goal here is to make the tank as recognizable as possible. We need to draw it so that it looks like something on an everyday background and then we need to make it as recognizable as possible from its own position in the background. I also tried to avoid using lots of white or black pixels and I think the result was pretty good. The whole look is a result of using more simple tools.
Take a look at those two tanks in my photo album here. They are both pretty similar in their design.
For the most part, if I want my tanks to be more recognizable I just pick the simplest way and apply it in the image.
Here’s a more complicated example. This one will be harder to draw because there are a lot of details in the background, most of them very big. But the overall look is nice.
When I was young I really liked fighting tanks and I wanted to draw a tank. You might argue that the tank on the left is much better than the one on the right because it features a bigger weapon. In the meantime, I’ll try to convince you that when you compare the two images a tank on the left and a tank on the right are exactly the same.
The same goes for the background behind the
